One of our favourite walks offers amazing views and a magical forest. The journey entails an open ridge walk to Ivinghoe Beacon, tranquil forests, and a classic village. Dogs are welcome on this trail, but they must be leashed.

Meeting Point

We'll convene at Euston Station at 8:45 am, and we'll depart at 9:00 am.

Our expected return time to London is 7:00 pm. Please note, we've procured a group train ticket, binding you for the day until this time.

Details

This route, which traces the Ridgeway along the Chiltern escarpment all the way to Ivinghoe Beacon, is nothing short of exhilarating. It unveils downland views that can rival those of the South Downs. From atop the Beacon, on a clear day, it feels like you're gazing at half of England.

Food

We'll pause during our hike for a snack lunch. Ensure you have packed food and drink. Following our hike, we'll make a stop at a local pub for refreshments.

What to Bring

  • Appropriate hiking attire and footwear. Waterproof hiking boots, jacket, and trousers are recommended.
  • Water (a minimum of 1 litre, 2 litres ideally)
  • A packed lunch or picnic
  • Some money for post-hike drinks and refreshments
  • Everything else, including train tickets and logistics, will be managed by us. Just show up and enjoy!
