HIKE OVERVIEW

This hike offers landmark views, and a chance to fill our lungs with crisp sea air atop the cliffs. The Seven Sisters are a sequence of white chalk cliffs nestled within the Seven Sisters Country Park. They are remnants of dry valleys in the South Downs, formed by glacial meltwater at the close of the last ice age. Coastal erosion has created an additional 'sister'.

Our hike commences in Seaford, home to a Martello Tower dating back to 1810. We will follow the cliffs along the South Downs way, passing Birling Gap and the Belle Tout lighthouse. Remarkably, the lighthouse was shifted to prevent coastal erosion. We'll navigate to Beachy Head, before heading towards Eastbourne for refreshments.

FOOD

We will pause for a snack lunch during the hike. Post-hike, we will stop by a pub for refreshments.
