Trip Highlights:

Hever Castle: Dating back to the 13th century, Hever Castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth I. It formed the unlikely backdrop to a sequence of tumultuous events that changed the course of Britain’s history, monarchy and religion. Hever Castle is what every child wants a castle to be: crenelated, moated, and haunted. A permanent exhibition in the Long Gallery brings the 16th century to life with costumed figures illustrating key events in Anne’s life at the Castle. Admission is charged.

St Peter's Church in Hever is a part-Norman church with a fourteenth-century tower topped with a shingle spire. Within the Bullen Chapel is the brass over the tomb of Sir Thomas Bullen, Anne Boleyn's father, showing Sir Thomas in his garter robes.

Chiddingstone Castle is one of the Seven Wonders of the Weald. It is a historic house, set in 35 acres of Kentish countryside, filled with treasures collected over a lifetime by Denys Eyre Bower.

Penshurst Place & Gardens have been the place for poetic inspiration and lavish Royal hospitality for over 650 years. The jewel in the crown is the 11 acres of Elizabethan walled gardens; stunning displays divided by a mile of yew hedges into 'rooms'; each garden is planted to give a succession of colour as the seasons change.
