Departure on Saturday 29th at 15pm and return on Monday 31st at 12pm. We meet at Station King Cross, We are going by 15 seaters.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 26 miles (42 km), and includes 1585 m (5200ft) of ascent.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge includes:

  • Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres)
  • Whernside (736 metres)
  • Ingleborough (723 metres)

Day 1 - Saturday: London go Hostel, check into Horton in Ribblesdale, Skipton. Evening briefing session and equipment check.

Day 2 - Sunday: Early breakfast, then depart for Hostel at approximately 6am. Hiking go Three Peaks Challenge.

Day 3 -Monday: Depart after breakfast. Chill out day, we lunch. Approximately 5.5 hours travel to London.

Planned arrival time back into London at 7:00pm. We have a group train ticket so all attendees will go and return together to the same station. If you want to return separately, please buy your individual train ticket.

About this Adventure

To complete this route is to undertake one of the great outdoor challenges in the UK. It will be a tough day, but worth it for that feeling of satisfaction upon completion.

Bracing climbs, empty summits and plenty of pubs to warm your toes. This is a monster winter challenge for the motivated or the mad, promises Felicity Aston. The neighbouring peaks of Pen-yghent.

Your Yorkshire Itinerary

6.30am Departure from the hostel by car at the beginning of the route

Start the challenge at around 6.45am, as each group is ready to set off.

Approx.8am Summit of Ingleborough.
Approx. 10am Arrive in Horton-in-Ribblesdale — first water stop. Toilets available in the village.
Approx. 11.30am Summit of Pen-y-Ghent.
Approx.1pm Arrive at High Birkwith, our lunch stop and second water top-ups.
Approx. 2.30pm Ribblehead Viaduct.
Approx. 4.45pm Summit of Whernside.
Approx. 6.45pm Target time to complete the challenge! We finish the challenge where we started, in Chapel le Dale, next to The Old Hill Inn — excellent food is available here from the pub restaurant, if you'd like to stay afterwards.

  • Dia 2: We will stop during the hike for a snack desayuno, lunch y dinner so please bring food and drink. We will visit a pub after the hike where we can get refreshments.

Can I bring my dog?

You're very welcome to bring your dog! Bear in mind that the route is largely over farmland, so they will need to be kept on a lead.

This hike is led by a trained hike leader and qualified Outdoor Activity First Aider. Outdoor activities involve a risk of personal injury. Please come with suitable hiking footwear and hiking clothes such as warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers in case of rain - more info
